After have received, unpacked and turned on your card terminal and received confirmation from our Sales Team that you're good to go, follow this procedure:
Open the Paymash POS App on the device that you would like to connect to the card terminal and log in if necessary. If you would like to use Paymash directly on your PaymashPay card terminal, do this step through the Paymash POS App found on your card terminal.
If you can't find the Paymash POS App on your PaymashPay card terminal, please contact us.
Find the Settings menu in your Paymash POS App and open the category Terminals, then tap the button that says PaymashPay.
Now you may see a list of available card terminals. In this case, find the serial number that corresponds to that which is written on the back of your card terminal. Otherwise, namely if you only own one card terminal, Paymash will automatically connect said terminal immediately.
Now tap Save to confirm the connection and you're all set! Your terminal is properly connected and you can now accept card payments.
Important to know
Login credentials and passcodes
After we have created an account at Adyen for you, you will receive an email from Adyen that contains your login credentials. Please store them in a secure location. If you didn't receive any such email, please check your spam folder or contact us.
You will need two four-digit passcodes to have access to your Settings and your Transactions menu on the terminal's home screen. If you haven't received those from us yet, please let us know.
Alternative options for accepting payments through the card terminal
In Switzerland, offering TWINT as a payment method for your customers is becoming more and more essential. Usually, we activate this option for all our Swiss customers upon creating their Adyen account. If this isn't working, please get in contact with us.
Card terminals from PaymashPay can also be used as standalone card terminals if needed. This essentially means that you have the option to just enter the price into the terminal manually and make the transaction through the terminal itself.
Please note that using your card terminal as a standalone device is completely separate from Paymash. This means that any and all transactions that are made like this will not be synchronized with Paymash and will neither be added to your daily report, nor will they be listed anywhere in the Paymash backend.
Battery info and useful accessories
Both card terminals from PaymashPay are powered by a modern, powerful lithium ion battery which is not only rechargeable but also lasts a long time. A standard charging cable is always delivered alongside your card terminal; however, you could also order a handy charging dock or a sleek protective case for your terminal.
The PaymashPay S1F2 comes with an integrated receipt printer which will eventually run out of thermal paper. For this reason, we made it easy for you to just order a new batch of thermal paper rolls through our online shop. Please note that only the variant Thermal paper 57x40mm can be used with the PaymashPay S1F2.
Internet connection and SIM-card
Sometimes, WiFi connections aren't very stable, don't work at all or cause similar issues. PaymashPay card terminals come with an integrated SIM-card for this exact reason; if your terminal should ever lose connection to your WiFi, it will immediately switch to mobile data, letting you continue making transactions as usual.
